The sweet preschooler boy with the intense gaze and renaissance young miss ( She reminds me of 'Girl With A Pearl Earring' -same wide eyed innocence):)
If I had to pick 4 of these, it would be #3, #4, #8 and #10.
With it's lighting, composition, (with the pants strap hanging,) DOF, and exposure, #3 is the obvious choice..

at least one in Portraits. These are the ones I am trying to choose from. Would love your opinions and constructive feedback. Thank you
Boy, Farmer Close-up and Blondie would be my choices.

The Boy and the Blond. They are all very good.

Renaissance works for me?
Boy and Farmer close up. I think the farmer could benefit from cutting back on the highlights slightly. The expression the boy is compelling to me.
My choice would be "boy," who is absolutely wonderful looking, giving us a look that's full of wonder. All the rest of the portraits are really fine too. Congratulations, Mercer.
I like the Blondie and the boy. Just my opinion.
Everyone and his brother will have a cute kid or fancy model or a family photo; I’d go with one of the farmer photos and be different.
For what it's worth from someone with an untrained eye, thought I ping over some first impressions from looking at your set, all of which are very well done, btw.
#1. Immediately loved it but realized I was focused more on the background than the family.
#2. Looks like a painting, not a photograph and way too over-processed for my taste...but it could win.
#3. At first glance, I loved it. Second time around, I adore it. Colors, lighting, shadows, background, his look, his eyes...fantastic subject
#4. Nice but ordinary
#5. I can't get enough of this photograph...his expression just tells a story and I like it so much better than #6
#6. See #5
#7. Obviously well done but not my taste. In some respects it reminds me of a French girl and in some a vampire. Too artsy for me.
#8. Beautiful photograph, beautiful girl, beautiful clothing, but the girl just wasn't a match for the native garb for me.
#9. Again, great photo but didn't draw my eye at all.
#10. Oh my goodness, what a beatiful cherub. Immediately my eye was drawn to the crystal clear blueness of her eyes...you could easily call that one, "Blue Eyes". Exceptional light, beautiful shadows, everything else but her eyes is just ever so slightly defocused. Loved it.
Bottom line, my order of finish is #5 Gold, #3 Silver, #10 Bronze but all are very, very close.
Thanks for sharing. This was fun.
