Does any body know rather these are still valid, I have heard reports that when they try to use them, they are charged $65 to enter a park, but as I read online on the National Park websites, they say the older passports are still valid

Those passes are good in many parks. Not hard to obtain a list online!

I live in NV and a neighbor of mine tried to use there's at Zion and they charged them $65, so they turned around and left the park, I was under the idea that these passes are still valid and permit free entrance to parks, if anyone has recently went to Grand Canyon or Zion, please comment on this as to if its free or charged a fee with the older card.
thank you everyone for your comments

They have been discontinued and replaced by Senior Agency Pass. They remain valid for
the holder and can be traded in for a Senior Agency Pass for free if a paper pass or for $10 if a plastic pass. They are only valid for the holder not other passengers.

My Senior Pass is good for the holder and three passengers. I last used it in October.

Lifetime Senior passes are now $80. I had my wallet stolen and had to buy a new one just a few months ago.

I don't know, but this is scary. If something is good for a lifetime and they force us to replace them for the more expensive ones, that's pretty bad. But then, that's government for you.

I recently presented my old cracked senior lifetime pass and they gave me a new one for no charge. Not sure what difference the golden age pass is. It was good for anyone else in the car.

I would print out any documentation that states that the old passes are still valid so you could present it with your older pass. Of course, trading it in for a new one would be a good idea.

We have recently returned from a trip to Arizona, Utah, etc....and used my Golden Age passport at both Zion and Bryce Canyons in Utah as well as Walnut Canyon in AZ. There were absolutely NO issues at any of the sites. The ranger at Walnut Canyon did ask for my DL for ID, but the others just waved us through as I held up my Passport card. I did notice the posted signs that had either a $30 or $35 per car admission fee for everyone else.

This trip was in April, of this (2018) year, so that's fairly current. There had been an earlier proposal to charge much higher admission fees, but the outcry about that seemed to make the administration have a change of heart. My view is that a fee in the $65 range would mean that a LOT of people of limited means would not be able to appreciate the amazing sights in these wonderous places...
