Beats the price of a McLaren, but can you survive rolling over three times like in a McLaren?

I've driven/owned Corvettes, Corvairs, Mercedes Gull Wings, Triumphs, MG's etc. and found that the Corvair had all and more than needed for freeway's, highway's and street driving. Also easier to get in/out and more comfortable to drive.

A "Corvair"?

I saw an interesting documentary about the Corvair a few years ago. The car that was originally designed was not the car that was produced. Apparently the bean counters decided to cut corners to save production costs and what rolled of the assembly line was a car with a lot of changes. I had a friend who had a supercharged Spyder, that thing was fast for the day. If they had produced the original car, they would be a classic today instead of joke.

Wow, man. Did you bring back a lot of memories with the Spyder. It was an awesome car and worth a fortune today. The thing is that there are more registered Spyders today than were actually built....ha.

In the film that I saw, the cars were seen driven hard over BIG sand dunes, up and down steep sandy hills and not a rollover to be seen anywhere. These were the cars that were not produced. If GM didn't screw with the original design, we probably would never have heard of Ralph Nader. I do recall my friends supercharger belt would occasionally come off. It took a couple seconds to put it back on. Glad I could tweak your memory, tomcat.
