A couple of volunteer flowers in my front yard. Used my Canon 6Dii and Canon 180mm L Macro Lens (no IS) hand held. All C&C is welcome and all details weill be with each photo. Next time I will use my ring flash and a lower ISO. Thanks for stopping by.

Good Morning Greg. This is a tough one to critique. You set your camera for two main things, movement and DOF. You might have opened up your lens to f/11 and therefore been able to lower the ISO as mentioned. I think you did right to try and keep your shutter speed as close to 1/500 as possible because of bending over and the addition of any breeze. I took your picture and added a high pass filter. Settings at 3.0 and making the layer Vivid Light. What a great results, the detail that came out was astonishing and the picture now has a 3D look to it. I will post if you wish. I did this to the second picture with the bee.

I also like the second one more than the first. They seem just a little out of focus to me but other than that they are good....Rich
Nice images hand held. Try matching length of lens with shutter speed. IE: 180mm with 1/200
Thank you, Timm for your comment. I agree with your comment about matching length and shutter speed and always attempt to have the relationship or more shutter speed. In these photos I believe I over did it.

Thank you, Rich. I believe I am getting more education with these photos than any of my bird photos. Totally different form of photography and I need to realize it. Thanks again, Rich.
