A couple of volunteer flowers in my front yard. Used my Canon 6Dii and Canon 180mm L Macro Lens (no IS) hand held. All C&C is welcome and all details weill be with each photo. Next time I will use my ring flash and a lower ISO. Thanks for stopping by.

Nice shots, Greg, and I especially like #2. I'm not seeing any detail in the petals of #1. You might consider using your tripod instead of a ring light so you can lower your iso. You didn't ask for advice, so I hesitate to offer any. Hope no offense is taken.

I agree with Donna, Greg. I was wondering why you chose F14 for these shots when you would have sufficient dof at say, F7.1. This would drop your ISO by 2 stops.

Donna, First off you could never offend me, you are one of my mentors and friends. I have the same problem with both of them that being high ISO. I would normally have used a monopod but did not even attach that. I figure if I could use my ring flash I could lower the ISO. Anyhow I will use both a tripod and a ring flash (not together) and see what I get. Thank you for confirming that the ISO is on the high side.

Earl, again you are one of my mentors so please always offer help. I was attempting to get as much DOF I could get using the Lens I had on. The flowers were also in the center of the planter so I was shooting into the dark areas with the ISO wide open. I just need to practice a whole lot more to get the results we like, such as your flowers and the ones that Donna shares. Thanks again for your input.

These are well done, Greg. Donna and Earl have offered good advice. That does not detract from the fact that the images have merit. I am sure they agree.

Thank you, Ken. I know they offered great advice to improve my technique and that the photos themselves are not bad but could be better. Bottom line is that I agree with you 100%.

Thanks, Jack. Always appreciate feedback.

Nice images hand held.
Try matching length of lens with shutter speed. IE: 180mm with 1/200
