My first consideration, when looking at any photograph, is its composition. Its where it fails or succeeds. You are in your own league there.
Nice… bristlecone pine, right?
excellent image, especially in download. You live in a beautiful part of the country.
Very, very nice. Highly detailed and rich in color.
Wonderful work, Jim! Where is this canyon in the area around Dead Horse?

Thanks, Steve. But nope, what bristlecones there are in Utah all live in the western part of the state. This one is just a pinyon pine, half the equation of what is termed the PJ (pinyon-juniper) forest native to the Colorado Plateau.

Immediately east of Dead Horse Point. The well maintained (due to gas wells in the area) unpaved road angles off Rte 313, the road that leads to DH State Park. At the mesa's edge, the road becomes a 4WD trail that descends Long Canyon through Pucker Pass down to the paved Potash Road which, if you take a left, then follows the north side of the Colorado River back toward Moab, or if you take a right, past the Potash river put-in, the potash evaporation ponds, and out to the strictly 4WD White Rim Road in Canyonlands NP.
Deeply appreciate your taking the time to look and comment jederick/krash/nanaval/fergmark/Wings/Steve/merrytexan (who apparently lives in Georgia)/MT/and let's not leave sippy out of this, either. Thanks!
