Great set - and I especially like the barn.
Yeah one of my favorites from the trip will be making a print of it to display. Thanks.

Nice set... really like the bison! Congratulations on the magazine cover.
He was rolling on the ground before I stopped, trying to remove his winter coat, then gave me this pose and the eye.

Took a week long trip into the panhandle of Nebraska and the Badlands of South Dakota a couple of weeks ago and it was a green oasis. Normally all I have seen of it, it is usually brown and dry but the May rains were kind to it this year.
During the trip I got a fresh copy of Our Iowa Magazine and found out I made the cover of the current issue (a goal of mine for some time) which paid for my trip out west. Good trip all around.
I have always said to get off and stay off the interstates there is so much out there to see even in the so called "fly over" states.

Congrats Duane and thanks for the beautiful images. And you're so right about getting off the Interstates, beautiful country all over America....
Congratulations on the magazine cover. You presented a lovely series of images here.
Well done! And congrats on the magazine cover that paid your way!

A few years ago when I first got interested in photography, I had a discussion with my wife’s nephew (also an amateur photographer) about the difficulty of doing landscape photography here in Iowa, and how a person would need to be very creative to capture interesting lanscapes in Iowa. It has been a goal of mine ever since to do just that and show the beauty of this state. I spend a lot of time doing gravel travel in that quest and it always amazes me what can be found when you get off the beaten path. You can be rolling along and top a hill when - BOOM - an amazing scene opens up in front of you. The trick then is to capture that scene to give the viewer the same sense of awe that drew you to it. You’ve done well with these photos and congrats on the magazine cover.

Few people understand this, those who live in the "fly over" and those who do fly over. Thanks for putting into words what I was trying to convey.
These are great shots Duane. I think #2 and #4 would look great in B&W as well.
