What ISO did you shoot with ? Have you tried to lower your ISO ? In bright sun light, I would test with ISO 100, to see would it make any difference. Also, keep your photos in your extra hard drive, so they won't be affected and easy to find later by sorting them by category or date...just some suggestion.

ISO 200 which is OK, used that to keep my shutter speed since I was handholding shots,as well as f8 aperture for good overall FOV sharpness. I believe it something with the uploading process now that slightly softens the images. Some like soft images but not me as I've been taught by old film guys that's a sign of poor photography. As far as categorizing images...I've been doing that for years. By date and subject and using a special program that allows me to see a thumbnail of every image I've ever taken in my life. Thanks though, for your thoughts.

They look great to me, James. Gorgeous photos, actually.

Ok, Earl...not sure why but they are slightly soft IMO, but since I don't know what's causing this, I can't fix it. So I'll just live with it for now.
Thanks my friend down under....

Lovely series, James. I always marvel at this structure!

Me too Carol, I always photograph it when I'm at Centennial Park. It's huge and an amazing sight in person.

Hi folks, me again...my wife recently had a doctors appointment, so rather than sit in the waiting room...she let me out at a local park then picked me up later. These are just some candid shots around the park. And, a test to check image quality. You see...Flickr has been bought out by Smugmug and it seems to me that they've degraded the image quality somewhat. These images were all very sharp when I saved them out of Photoshop Elements but now they seem soft to me.

Oh, one thing to note...there is netting around the artwork to keep the birds out.

So long Flickr...you've been a good photo sharing/storage site for me....

Nice set! We heard about the Parthenon from one of our sons who went to a community college conference nearby. Two years ago, we were driving from Asheville NC to Paducah KY on our way to Iowa and made it a point to stop and see it. Pretty amazing.

Yes it is pretty amazing to see in person. There is so much detail one just can't get from a photo. The architects and builders made several trips to museums in England and to Athens Greece itself to make measurements and cast molds so this Parthenon would be as close to the actual Parthenon as humanly possible. Glad you stopped by to share your story.
