Please post the image you want to print here on UHH and don't forget to check the (store original) box. Then we can see if your image file is too small to print or any other problems with the image.

I also suggest that you download and use the Canon Print Studio Pro plugin for use in applications such as Lightroom, PSE and Photoshop along with other editing applications. This makes printing much easier. If you call Canon, they would suggest the same thing.

Make sure you have the size selected in your editing program and your printer. I had the same problem once and that was my issue.

I don't have any Programs like lightroom. Just the I Mac computer and printer. I've been successful printing before with it.

I have the Pro-10, so this is most likely close to your issue, and I print from Photos occasionally. A few questions.

Most importantly, if you have 8x10 size paper selected, is that what you are really using? If you're using standard letter-sized, you aren't going to get true 8x10s, as that is sized 8.5x11. (While 8x10 inkjet paper is available, it is not very commonly available) If you are using letter-sized paper, it is going to be a little different..

Have you selected "borderless" on the set-up menu?

Do you then select "fit" or "8x10"? Both will give you some border if you are using letter-sized paper.

Is the print you are trying to make the proper aspect ratio (i.e. 4x5) and you have letter paper - it just won't work and you'll get white borders.

If you are using the most common of the sensor sizes, you are *not* going to get a true 8x10 no matter how hard you try (8x10 is 4x5 ratio, (most) APC (or "crop" sensors) are 2x3 ratio - as are the so-called full frame sensors, and MF4thirds are, well, 3x4 ratio). NONE are 8x10 ratio.

If you tell the machine you are using 8x10 and you are using letter size it may or may not work. (I frequently use the 10x12 size option to print 5x7s on 12x12 specialized paper. It comes out perfectly centered. Who knows why, but I like to experiment a lot. Thats how I discovered the Pro-10, while stating it is a 13x19 printer, can can output bordered 14x25x)

I don't know if this addresses your problem. If it does, great. If not, I would call Canon Support. I have had great luck with them. (sorry, I don't have the number offhand, but https://support.usa.canon.com should get you started.

(BTW, if you want true 8x10 paper, http://redrivercatalog.com is an excellent source, and for a lot more than just paper)

Use Photoshop or other photo manipulation program to resize the image to 8x10. I had the same thing happen to me- I finally did a Google search on hot to resize the image and now it comes out whatever size I want. Even when cropping the image, the program keeps the same 8x10 proportions. Just Google it or try the Help section of your software.

Good luck.

While not necessarily a solution for you, Corel PaintShop Pro XX (any version) has an printer function called Print Layout in addition to the normal Print function. Once your photo has been cropped to the desired aspect ratio, 4x5 or 1x1.25 for an 8x10 for example, you Open Print Layout and drag the desired file (if you have more than 1) to the 8.5x11 form which has 1/2 inch grid markings. Then drag the print and/or the corners (the aspect ratio cannot be changed in Print Layout) to the size and position on the page you want. If you have more then 1 file and there is room you can put more then one print on the sheet. Set the printer up, Gloss Print paper, etc and print the photograph. I use mine on both HP and Canon printers. There may be other software with a similar printing aid but I have used PaintShop this way since the turn of the century. I presently am using PaintShop Pro 2018.

While there have been some very good suggestions to assist Genessi, he still only has Photos. LR, PS, PSP explanations will not help. What *will* help if he gives a more detailed explanation of what is happening.

Gen - if you have a scanner, try showing us what is occurring. If not, please describe the borders as they print - both in "8x10" and 13x19. We are a broad enough forum that someone will be able to assist!

Personal opinion here - meaning I don't want to start a war - is that for ten bucks a month, LR/PS are worth it. I only use LR, and find it very intuitive (certainly compared to PS), and most of the printing problems are quickly solvable.

Thank you for catching that I only have Photos and no other programs. I did get my printer to work by up dating the software or drivers and did a cleaning. I printed some letter size and 13x19 and also some 11x14 which Canon Pro 100 doesn't show but I used Tabloid.
I don't have LR because I think it's to much of a learning curve for me. I can barely take decent photos. There is one that has been suggested and I will look into(print studio pro)Here a few of the prints I was trying to print. Thank you for your help.

I got to print right size! Thank you for all your help. It's always nice to know that I have this great group to help solve my silly problems.
I have lots of learning to do. Sometimes it's hard to grasp all this info about photography, PP programs, printers and paper types and sizes especially when you don't see the setting.
ANYWAYS! It's fun and i am starting to get it.( Oh that's what they meant)

Happy Cinco De Mayo!

If your using LR , go to File , page set up & go thru the options. Change your paper size. In the print menu it should show a preview. You might have to drag the lines ( like pulling a windows screen larger ) outward to make the pic larger in the preview. Also in the panel on the right in the print panel there is an option , zoom to fill. Can't help with the Canon print studio. I used when I first got the printer but now it says LR is not valid version (lr 6 ) & will not open. I need to call Adobe. Anyway go to you tube & watch sone of Jose Rodriguez ( jToollman ) vids on the pro 100.

Good luck.

Ps. I went through this too when I first started printing.

Glad everything worked out. I didn't know that Canon sold 8x10 paper.

There is so much out there to learn in photography, but the first thing is to please yourself and take the shot *you* want and then to "develop" it with what PP you have to *your* vision. Don't get discouraged. Most of us on UHH are old hands at this and willing to share what we know. And most of us will admit that we continue to learn as we continue to shoot.

Some great shots! Here in NH we are a long way from having flowers in full bloom yet - we only just recently got rid of the snow! Making me jealous.
