Hi Folks, not all abandoned places are out in the country. This place I found right here in Nashville along one of the busiest streets we have. It looks like it was a lovely home at one time. Now, it's been left and obviously abandoned. Wish I knew what was going on here and why it has been abandoned. Seems like such a shame and waste. Anyway...I got a good shot of it as a passenger in a car driving by one day.

What a great shot! It shouldn't be too much of a chore to find out who the owner is through an online county records search. There has to be a great story just waiting to be told. Do you write? This is chapter one of a novel.

I work in the affordable housing industry here in Massachusetts, and do a lot with receiverships, which basically allow the court to appoint a receiver to take care of code violations on a property if it is abandoned and left to become a danger. There are thousands of such properties abandoned, mostly by the banks who either own them outright or control the equity. I have looked at hundreds of properties in the ten years we've been focusing on this, and have thousands of photos, each of which tells a sad story - kids' sports equipment, wedding albums, even fully decorated Christmas trees, abandoned as the residents fled the house. Couple it with the inevitable vandalism and destruction once the house is empty and it's a tragic story indeed.

It's a shame to see such a gorgeous old house abandoned--great shot, though, James.

James, looks like the first step to restoration would be cutting the vegetation. House looks like it's in good shape.
This is begging to be a b&w image...just my opinion. Nice scene you captured here.

Super shot James..what a shame, because it looks a beautiful house..I'm surprised nobody has bought it and renovated it.
Nice photo, James, and it looks as if it could still be a nice house--a great candidate for a fixer-upper.
Beautiful photo of what appears to be a nice home in a gorgeous setting. Really makes me wonder why it was abandoned.
