I have to agree with Repleo on the format and removing a bit of the foreground. It also appears to need to be leveled a bit; to me the right side needs to come up just a touch.

You might try lightening and maybe saturating the boat just a little to bring out the white. But only a little. Then compare and take your pick

Beautiful composition, sharp. It's a wall hanger. Frame it and display it in your home.

Great photo and worth the effort to get it the way you like. I took it into NIK and applied a 50/50 recipes of Detail extractor and tonal contrast. Adds a bit of saturation and detail to the image I personally like. But each to their own. Great image and worth your efforts to get it exactly the way you like it.

Were the little specks left of the boat birds. The also add context to the image.

Allen, there's nothing wrong with your picture, in fact it's quite remarkable. I'm contemplating the same questions regarding metal/glass prints. Let us know how things worked out for you.

Beautiful image. I would crop some of the foreground so the horizon line is obviously not close to the center which also would bring the boat a little closer.

Your opinion is just as correct as mine! This is not whose right just an opinion on the picture. Eye of the beholder! I believe that I see the boat giving the picture heavy balance against the heavy rain storm pouring down. Also you would have to do something with those birds flying after the boat if removed. Then again the birds adds life and action against the active rain storm to the picture.

Lightening the boat slightly maybe! But too much and the eye will focus onto the boat and lose the panoramic-ness of the scene of the storm being included. Otherwise if the boat is the main object, why not just zoom in on the boat.

I think it is a wonderfully crafted scene.

Again, no disrespect to your opinion - he was asking for opinions.

Beautiful image. No adjustments needed or desirable for my taste. Lightening the boat would make it look as if it were a composition of a picture of a boat pasted onto a cloud scene. The birds add an excellent sub note. Metal should be the best media for this range of light and dark. Thanks for sharing!

The close-up waves are sharp. The trawler is not.

I agree... the boat is an integral part of the story behind the presence of the gulls.
