I do know that my DSLR purchased in 2013, does not have that shutter delay. Also, I do not know if the shutter delay is a problem with today's mirrorless cameras.

The measured shutter lag on the X-T2 is 0.052 sec in autofocus. With manual focus it is 0.033 seconds. By comparison, the Nikon D 7100 has a lag of 0.055 and 0.054 Auto and manual. So the answer is resounding NO!

Seen this so many times, "Mirrorless are no good for action shots". Would like to offer this defense of mirrorless. Taken with X-T2 and the 50-230 XC lens, crop of jpeg straight from camera.

Great set Cat!

LoL, Cat, the other day I had my wife stand there and flap her arms...., that shot came out great too!!!
Hovering is not exactly action!
Come on Girl, get with the program!!!
But theyโ€™re nice shots nonetheless!

While hovering a typical hummingbirds wing beat is up to 80 times per second, if your wife's arms can move that fast she should slap you for making such an inaccurate post. Just because you put a smiley face doesn't make it right

Really great to see those from your mirrorless. I just bought a Sony a6000 and am encouraged by what you were able to do with yours.

You obviously have not lately watched hummingbirds in flight. They are lightning fast = just a bit slower than a bullet. One of these shots was a hummer in level flight - take another look. Lens wide open at 230mm at 1/1000. Taken in burst mode ~ 5 frames/sec.

I was gonna ask what shutter? Nice shots or , should I say nice captures at the speed they move!

Sounds like shutter lag is no longer an issue. That's good to know.
