Anyone else do any photo restoration?

Good effort there. It's so hard to replace and clone in missing data and make it look decent. In my example I was missing parts of a persons face I had to clone the half that was there, flip it, and past it back in. That actually worked pretty well and I used similar technique for missing ears and such.

So in answer to your question - I probably wouldn't have done this at all if it wasn't a friend of mine. Her father is pictured in the photo and it's one of the last surviving photo's of him. She wanted to have it restored and copies made as gifts for her family. The other reason I did it was to challenge myself as it made me do some research on retouching and discover new technique to better my work. Tedious but rewarding at the same time.
