Anyone else do any photo restoration?

So I don't think I've seen this topic come up - although I'm sure it has at some point. I have been doing photo restoration from time to time and I wanted to post one of the more difficult projects I've done. I'd be interested in seeing other members work so if you would like to share; I look forward to seeing your work.

There have been quite a few restoration projects on the Hog, both requested and posted as complete. The appropriate section for this is the Post Processing section which can be found at:

Daniel. Great job. Thanks for sharing. I have done a few restorations using Elements, but not nearly as good as what you presented here. I'd be interested mostly in how you were able to get the uniforms back to their proper shades from the whitish fading that we see in the original.

Yes, I've done some with obvious improvements, using Picassa is very time consuming but by scanning at high res makes it easier.
I haven't been able to get my head around PSE9, which I have, although had many tries at it.
I love to see old pics brought back to life & brightened up, they're usually very clear basic pics. It's the damage or the mist/fade that one can brighten up. Very satisfying result.

Have never attempted any restoration work, but after seeing this result, thinking it could deserve a topic of its own on this site. I would be interested in learning. Great job BTW. You can be proud of your efforts.

Sorry to say this but, they are very good for the software you used; there are packages of the last stand alone ver. of CS7 for sale on eBay for less than $20 bucks.
Encase you are strapped for cash; all the old plugins work. I have used "wire worm" on some creased prints.(whatever works) Keep at it and you will improve; practice is like that.

I've done enough restorations to know that this job took many hours to accomplish. Too bad you couldn't have saved the guys on the right but the roof replacement at the upper right, and the rest of the picture, is particularly well done. Bravo!

Daniel, You are very talented. You should be very proud of that restoration.
I did photo restoration in the old days with airbrush.

I do a lot of restoration projects...this is one I did several years ago, before a lot of the newer restoration tools were out
