Chris gets excited and interrupts; but the show is not an insult to journalism.

Not just conservatives; ever watch Chris Matthews on Hardball? I don’t know why people appear on his show other than to be his foil for pontificating.

Jerks can be found in all politics, just ask RichardSM; he seems to be an expert.

Well when you make statements or criticism like you do so often it’s about time independent people need too call leftist like you on it and truth be told you and left can’t handle other opinions. neo-Marxist in this country will be exposed and I think you fall in to that category quite well. Do have a nice day if you can sir!

You'll have to verify it with him, but I think he's a Republican.

When you gratuitously call someone an a**hole as you did to Thom W, you can reasonably expect some heat. As for your neo-Marxist BS, if you knew anything at all about me, you would understand I am a moderate conservative. I didn’t vote for either Clinton or Trump; I wrote in Romney / Huntsman and will again if need be.
You are a loose cannon with your presumed knowledge of others; I suggest you stop shooting yourself in the foot (try aiming at your mouth; it appears to be a big target)

I've made the same mistake in the past. No worries,

You have earned quite a bit of respect from me since you have been posting here, but I can't understand voting for someone you absolutely know can't win, unless you truly believe they (the two majors) are actually equal, and you have no feeling that one might be worse than the other. I'm not trying to criticize. I really don't think I'm in a position to, but it does puzzle me.

So do you vote for what you believe, or just who will win? I have always voted for the person I believed would represent the values I believe in, rather the person I thought would win.

No offense is taken. I could never ever vote for Trump. I dislike Hiliary and yet continue to feel that she is far more intelligent and skilled than Trump. However, she is equally sleazy but in different ways. Like many other people, I thought she was going to win and I didn’t want my vote to be a part of that. Two realistic alternatives remained; abstaining or writing-in. I wrote in a ticket I believed in. Though it was doomed to failure, I can live with that.

I respect that and have done the same many times.

I believe you misunderstand me. I've heard that some people just like to have voted for the winner. That is something I really don't understand. I vote the way I believe has a chance of bringing the results I most desire. I voted for Hillary. If I had known Trump would win, I would have still voted for Hillary. I would have liked Bernie to win, but since she won the primary a vote for Bernie would have been thrown away and have equaled a half vote for Trump. Since I'm in California, I could have stayed home and said my vote didn't matter, but what if hundreds of thousands of other people did the same. Until he ran and spoiled the election and then denied he had anything to do with the Republican winning, I had a lot of respect for Nader. I didn't vote for him because a vote for him would have been a half of a vote for the Republican. Almost without exception, after the primary it is a binary choice. If you really don't care which wins, then feel free to vote for whoever you wish, but if you like one more, or hate one less, you should vote your preference of the two majors. It may not always be that way, but for now it is.

" I could have stayed home and said my vote didn't matter, but what if hundreds of thousands of other people did the same. " If thousands of people actually voted for what they believe rather thab the lemmings game of playing numbers games, we might just have politicians who serve the people rather than the party. As for Trump spoiling the election and the rest of your anti-Trump regurgitation, I might remind you that Hillery was caught fixing the primary, you wouldn't call that spoiling an election?

My post contained no anti Trump anything. Sometimes we see what we expect to see rather than what is in front of us. I was a bit anti Nader but he brought that on himself. If everyone voted for the person they wanted and the process remained how it is with no run offs, we could easily elect candidates that few people want. I don't believe, with a population the size of the US, what you are promoting would be reasonable. As far as "the lemmings game of playing numbers games" I had no idea lemmings do that.
I'm sure thousands of people do vote for who they want even though they aren't on the ballot, but it would take millions to make any difference. It could be many millions and unless they all voted for the same write in, they might throw the election, but they wouldn't elect who they wanted to.

And you apparently have low reading comprehension if you still believe my post was anti Trump. I never figured you would get protective of Ralph Nader. At one time I would. He may be decent enough but he let his ego elect a republican when without him the Democrat would have won. If you sound the post out syllable by syllable maybe you will get it. On the other hand if you just feel I'm all wet in general and it has nothing to do with my post, that is an opinion, and you are entitled to your own opinion. It's just too bad you are wrong so often.
