I have a D7500 and it is a wonderful camera. So glad i got it. I would not trade it for a D7200.

Real helpful! Nice!
Yes, may seen a bit sarcastic, but blame it on manufacturer's who often go backwards on upgrades. I also agree that at Refurb or low count used prices, the D7200 or even the D7100 is a better camera for the money spent than the D7500.
Nikon did it with the D3400 compared to the D3300. At current prices, the D3300 is a better deal/and camera than the D3400 when one considers what was dropped from the D3400.
Canon made the same mistake on the 50D vs the 40D.
It happens all the time. A higher model number actually only denotes a better camera if you make a solid comparison feature for feature.
All the camera manufacturers often "blow it" moving from model to model. Read the reviews closely. Dpreview often brings up these pros and cons on their "conclusion" page. So does Steves-Digicams.com. Ken Rockwell will always point out "faux pas" on model number upgrades. He has save me a lot of money with his review/critiques on equipment.
The d7500 uses the same electronics for focus as the d500 at much less cost. d7200 is older technology from what I've read.
