He got away

I came across this in a parking lot. The Hawk had the Crow pinned to the ground. I pulled up in my car and the Hawk flew about ten feet away with the Crow. I followed them and when they landed the Hawk let go of the Crow and flew away. I guess he had to find a meal somewhere else.

Yes, timing is all.

That likely is a common blackbird; crows have black beaks.

I was thinking that it looked more like a starling. too bad he didn't kill it before flying off.
