I am a Canon user and iv'e had a number of models (not the T6) never had a problem. You can't go wrong with a Canon.

I do not own one but have a close friend who does. It is an apsc camer, is quite light weight, and takes excellent photos. It comes with a nice price and uses virtually any Canon lens including even some of the older film era AF lenses.

It lacks the bells and whistles of more advanced Canons but I see no major fault with it. ( FYI, I use Pentax cameras)

Have one. It's a nice camera. Lots of features. It does have WiFi and you can remotely control it. That makes up for not having a swivel screen. It takes EF and EF-S lenses. It also accepts manual lenses and has a great metering system. I love mine.

I've had the T1i for years and like it.
I'd compare the three models and see which one may afford you more versatility.
Personally I might go for the T6s first then the T6i, not so much the T6:

You can debate Canon vs. Nikon vs. Sony vs. Fuji vs. whatever until your hair and teeth fall out. It all comes down to personal preference. The real bottom line is the quality of the photos and that has more to do with the eye and skill of the person looking through the viewfinder. These hardware debates border on stupid and ridiculous and, in the end, never, ever change opinions.

YOU were the one to bring up the Canon vs Nikon vs etc, etc. The OP simply asked for opinions concerning a particular camera and the responses, up until yours that is, were along those lines.

If you are considering buying it, the only opinion that counts is yours. So the same advice for any one .Goto a store and handle it. "Feel" is very important and in any event, the glass that's attached to the body will have more effect on the image, than that body.

The t6 is Canon's entry level DLSR and does not have the options of other models, but it is easy to operate, takes good images and is in a price range that won't break the bank. Sam's, Costco and a few others have them in a kit with 2 lenses, a bag, SD card, etc. for about 550.00.

You likely won't see one in the hands of a NatGeo photographer, but for most beginning and amateur photographers it will fill the bill nicely.

Our 16 year old granddaughter has that model. It produces fine images, even of silly teenage girl's antics. It's very light & fits her smallish hands well. I doubt you'd be displeased.

I have a T5 and the wife has a T6i. They are both good cameras and will do what you want them to.

The T6 is an upgraded T5 with the newer processor. Either will do a good job. The downside is the focusing is poorer than that found on the better models but still adequate.

My understanding is that it gets the job done - nothing special, but at that price range you don't need special. My understanding is also that the T6i is a better camera, as is the T7i. You would need to ask more specific questions to get more specific answers.

I’ve used Canon for years from film to digital and do not have any complaints. Never had a problem with product quality. Hope this helps.
