Sorry to hear of the loss of your father, Richard. My father committed suicide in 1993, it took me over 10 years to get that behind me. My deepest sympathies to you and your family. Taking his equipment to a camera retail store would net you the minimal in value. Posting his equipment on this website or Ebay will get your mother a better price.

Lost of one father is not a easy thing to get by, but your father would want you to move on. Best place to sell your father's cameras is here. I try e-bay, auction , cragelist. always had problems. UHH is just for camera people, so you will be selling to the people you would want. UHH people can help you if you have any question on one of your father's cameras.
