My error. It is the FF Nikon AF-P NIKKOR 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6E ED VR f/34-8. Thanks for pointing that out. He can read reviews and see if anyone has had success on their DX camera.

i have considered all of your very helpful comments and have opt for the Kenko 1.4x Teleplus Pro 300 DGX. True, I will only be able to use it with good light, but the Auto-Focus works well under those conditions and it will be a fun item to add to the kit.
