Iceland accepts CC everywhere. To buy gas you will need a PIN # to go with your CC.
Can't remember every needing cash except for maybe a candy bar.
Also if you are going and going to rent a car, get a loaner Cell Phone with the car rental company's number pre programmed in.
Stay off the really bad roads. NO insurance policy covers for undercarriage damage by rocks.
