I’m tempted to by a LRpreset package. Good idea or am I just being lazy?
Mostly take landscape and architectural photos.
Presents can be a good thing.
...I do my own. That said, if the price was right maybe I'd try a set, but after all these years of using the software, heck, I've *deleted* many!

I have a bunch of presets, but soon discovered I prefer editing my shots from scratch.
Some presets are great and others not worth the price

Save your money. Make presets as you need them. They are a great timesaver.
start with free ones...plenty of those out there. That said, I prefer to just edit from scratch...or once I have one the way I like it, I just copy and paste adjustments.
It's a great way to "reverse engineer" process a file. When you apply a preset, you see all the slider movements so you can see exactly what made the file look the way it did. I found this to be very useful when I started in Lr.
I've downloaded some free ones, and also bought a free package. There's probably about 3 or 4 our of about 100 that I use, and sometimes tweak from there. Have started to delete the ones that I think are just awful.

Same here. With experience my own settings yield the best results, even though I waste time trying out presets sometimes. But I end up using the settings I did myself.

I just make my own. They’re quite useful, serving some of the same purposes as Photoshop Actions.
