Peak Design is my go-to strap. Long enough to wear bandolero style and can be removed quickly.

Try this. I just ordered one my self from Amazon so I can't tell you how it is but I sympathize with you on the neck problems.

YRMJK camera strap Belt Quick Rapid Shoulder Sling for DSLR Cameras. $14.95

It attaches around your shoulder and keeps the camera on your side by your hand for quick use.

Kinda like a detectives shoulder holster.

I to looked to find a better way to carry my Nikon d810 with 28-300 Nikon lens all day when traveling. I tried several and found that Lums-labs cinch strap (at www.
Lima-labs.com) is by far the most comfortable and controllable even over the Peak Designs “Black Magic straps”. I know that the Black Magic straps are very popular, BUT I travel overseas several times a year for fun and at age 74 the Cinch Strap let me carry my camera all day until dinner, then I drop down to my Sony RX100 II pocketable Camera. Good luck...

I use the Canon CPS straps and they have been the most comfortable to date yet, I'm happy with them. The neck piece is very nicely cushioned(it's about 3/8" thick)!

I've never seen one of these. I'll look into it. I recently did an extended photography trip, and the weight of carrying the camera all day for many days has pinched a nerve in my neck. This looks like it might not cause that.

For over 40 years I have made use of a tied on guitar strap on most of my cameras.

It is wide and comfortable and low cost.

The weight is evenly dispersed and the strap functions as a shock absorber to eliminate neck and shoulder fatigue. I also like it doesn't attach to the tripod port.

Neoprene straps are very comfortable. I gave one to my mother, brother and significant other. We all appreciate the trade-up.

I too am an older guy. Check out the BosStrap, on their web site. I have three of the simple cross body straps, which have no padding, but they are 1.5 inches wide so you don't feel the weight at all. Benefits: camera not right up front for all to see, neckstrap not chafing your neck, the BosStrap slider lets you bring the camera to eye level from where it is at your hip, you can cradle the camera when walking so it does not swing around, it is less obvious to thieves since it is down at your hip, and you can wear it under a jacket or vest but still be able to bring it to eye level if the vest/jacket is open. Take a look! I have three of them, and they are great. JimR

Another vote for Op-Tech here. In addition, they have little, inexpensive pouches that slide onto the strap for carrying an extra battery, extra cards, remote control, etc. -- I have 3 of them on mine plus a special filter pouch for my polarizer -- takes the place of having to lug around a camera bag and you always have your essential accessories with you and readily available. And, I use the strap--it's neoprene and stretchy to reduce weight--both across my chest and on my shoulder (left or right), and it has quick connects at both ends so you can take it off the camera for when you use a tripod. The quick connects will also connect together to provide a "handle" for just carrying the camera without a strap.

Optech makes very good comfortable straps in all kinds of configurations for a reasonable price. Go to their website and pick the one for you.

Op-Tech makes a great neckstrap. One of the reasons is there is a clip on each side to disconnect the strap from the camera. The neck area is wide and reinforced. Great strap for less than $20.

I stopped using next straps completely as I felt they were uncomfortable, strained my neck, and most of all were always bumping into things (and people). I switched to Spider Black Widow products and have never looked back.
