Hello Friends,
My subject is about the comfortability of camera straps and any suggestions for a solution to the following.
I have a standard factory neck strap from Canon. It came with the camera and is an 80D. I cannot seem to stay comfortable with the camera hanging on the strap for much time at all. This is due to many factors but mainly neck and shoulder problems and age. So I end up holding the camera in my right hand more than around my neck. It is more comfortable cross shoulder but the strap is not long enough and unusable in this configuration. Any recommendations on specific camera straps that might help an old guy out would be appreciated.
Thanks
Pat

I use Blackrapid straps. Here's the website: http://www.blackrapid.com/

I use this on the end of the strap: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/686909-REG/Jobu_Design_QRR_125_QRR_125_Ballhead_Monopod_Quick_Release.html

. . . and one of these on each lens foot and/or bottom of each camera body: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/391058-REG/Arca_Swiss_802208_Square_Camera_Plate_1_4.html?sts=pi

. . . use longer plates on larger lenses with a large lens foot.

Best straps on the market at great prices! Their sling straps attach to the camera strap lugs where they were intended to attach. They are pliable, comfortable, and shock absorbing. AND they are totally made in the USA!

I like the peak design sling strap. It can be used as a typical neck strap hanging straight down and bouncing on your chest, or much better as a cross shoulder strap, with the camera down at your hip. In that configuration, it slides effortlessly up to your eye to take a picture, and you can comfortably carry a heavy camera/lens all day. Plus, since it doesn't announce to the world what model camera you are carrying, it is less inviting to thieves.

It comes with an anchor plate that can fit most tripods, and quick connect attachments make it easy to switch from hip carry to front carry to wrist strap (if used with peak design's wrist strap), making it super versatile. Very comfortable well made product!

Never been found of camera straps, find them an absolute pain, especially when you want to remove them to do macro photography.
Then I came across Peak design camera straps.
Easily removed from the camera body, simple to adjust with non-slip backing, just a dream to have on your camera.

I use the Canon CPS straps and they have been the most comfortable to date yet, I'm happy with them. The neck piece is very nicely cushioned(it's about 3/8" thick)!

I, too, went with Peak. It’s just perfect for me. I wanted a sling strap as having a camera strap around my neck was too annoying.

I use the slide lite strap, the capture for my belt, but the one piece I use most is the clutch. I am definitely a peak design user.

Black Rapid makes a variety of straps along with many other manufactures. My favorite is one with a padded shoulder. Buying a camera strap is a lot like buying shoes. It's best to try them on before you buy.

I've used several straps, but my all time favorite and the only one I use now is Peak Design.

Me too. I have the Blackrapid that has storage on the strap for batteries and sd cards. I also got the underarm strap which helps hold it in place over my shoulder. I really like the modularity of the system.
