I stopped using next straps completely as I felt they were uncomfortable, strained my neck, and most of all were always bumping into things (and people). I switched to Spider Black Widow products and have never looked back.

I have started using Cotton Carrier and they work pretty well. I also have a Blackrapid which I use for odd shots here and there. I use the Cotton Carrier when I'm going out for hours of shooting
Over the years I think that I may have bought just about all of them. I now have peak design on all my cameras and love it.

Hello Friends,
My subject is about the comfortability of camera straps and any suggestions for a solution to the following.
I have a standard factory neck strap from Canon. It came with the camera and is an 80D. I cannot seem to stay comfortable with the camera hanging on the strap for much time at all. This is due to many factors but mainly neck and shoulder problems and age. So I end up holding the camera in my right hand more than around my neck. It is more comfortable cross shoulder but the strap is not long enough and unusable in this configuration. Any recommendations on specific camera straps that might help an old guy out would be appreciated.
Thanks
Pat

I had this problem and spent about a year trying various possible solutions. I use a Sony A6000 which is small and light, but even with a small lens I found that it weighed down on my neck and caused pain. After trying a number of more expensive solutions I finally settled on a very inexpensive harness that I found on Amazon.

I did find the hardware on that harness a bit flimsy so I replaced it with hardware from another strap that I had and I can't recall the brand.
There was another recent set of postings. After reading the postings and doing some online research I went with the peak design clutch as step 1. This gives me thr ability to hold my camera secuely in my right hand only. I also have a comfortable neck strap that typically anchors at the two points on top of the camera. The strap also has a clip on each strap for quick disconnect. I moved one of the next strap anchor points to an anhor point on the clutch so I can easily add my current next strap and use it when needed. I have found that using just the clutch as the default works well for me.
i bought a sling strap that I love. It's called Fastfire and it goes over your left shoulder and the camera hangs at your right hip. Not much money but makes things so comfortable and easy.
I too was having a lot... in fact, much more than a lot of neck, back, shoulder pain and a friend gave me a black rapid knock off strap some 8 years ago. I now own several black rapid straps and have them on every body. I no longer have much pain at all unless I have been carrying my camera for more than about 4 hours at a time. this is the best neck,back, shoulder pain strap that I have ever found.
For me , it’s Optech. Many styles and colors to choose from at great prices. Extremely comfortable.

OPTECH straps. Very comfortable and they have a connector system that allows you to customize it to suit your needs. They also have a dual camera set up.
I bought and tried a Black Rapid, several Op/Techs and a box full of others, but now I have Peak Design straps on my cameras. They are the best for my requirements -- and maybe yours.
Pat;
Thanks for the recommendation. One thing I did not mention in my initial response on the Peak Design clutch was what my intended step 2. My step two was to find a low cost sling that I could integrate with my Peak Design clutch. Your sling looks like it fits perfectly.
Crumpler is what I have currently and I like it. Never used the straps that came with cameras. Favorite strap was Disney with Mickey Mouse that looked like a film clip and had places for 35mm film cans, daughter took it when she got my old DLSR years ago.
