We moved to SW in 2005, and learned that local USPS postmaster was there for 7 years, with his closed door.
No one in town, including the mayor knew his name. Since that time, we've had 5 replacements.

Hey Pinocchio, What the hell kind of a "post" is that. Not that I care, but what has anything you said got to do with anything?

What has the SW got to do with it? i.e., postmaster, his name, his closed door, the mayor.

Maybe he/she opened it when you left. Did you know the mayor? Did you know the 5 replacements?

Never mind, I don't really care.

Your name says a lot...

And now I have realized you gotta a long nose.

I'm not sure of the point either. I don't even know what "SW" means. Couldn't the guy write it out, or was two sentences enough for him?

He went postal on himself and his corpse was locked in the office for several years. No matter how much paint and redecorating is done, they can't get rid of the smell, hence the many replacements.

Makes about as much sense as the OP...

This has to be a contender for one of the lamest topics of the year.

South West (Tex - NM - Ariz - Nev! For you dummies!

THE USPS had to replace 7yr dude after he was supposed to be on vacation & there was no person sitting in the office.

The news was in local papers in SW states. They had to get 2 governors, 2 congressmen, postal inspectors office & local supervisors involved!

Of course this happened almost 12 yrs ago. They have had new postmasters about every 2 years since.

If he was on vacation, then who was supposed to be sitting in his office?

Are you actually trying to prolong this vapid thread? Please, let it die a merciful death!
