I have a couple of IR remote triggers for Nikon, one genuine, one "knock-off"....... neither working, the contacts have oxidised ?
I am a fair hand with electronics and a soldering iron, considering adding connections to the oxidised (cleaned up) contact terminals
and connecting to an electronic flash slave detector . Take auto photos of lightening (not that we get many thunderstorms round here !)
trigger the camera with a flash gun ? Putting the bits together..........keep you posted
I don't quite understand what you want to do.

I think it could work as long as the components are correct and you can get then soldered without destroying something.
How much is it to just buy a cheap lightning trigger vs the parts you need?
