Reminds me of the "Drunk" who called his wife to pick him up.

"Where are you?" she asked.

He replied, "I'm on the corner of Walk and Don't Walk.

I had this happen to me at a fast food restaurant years ago...Placed my order, bill came to $5.06, gave the girl a $10 bill, then I realized I had the six cents also and gave it to her but , she had already keyed in the I gave her a $10 bill and the register was showing to give me back $4.94....She could not understand just to give me back $5...Even got the manager and she said it couldn't be done because the register said to give back the $4.94....Well guess what they did.....They cancelled my order and re-entered it so they could figure out the correct change to give me.......Have not ever been back to this establishment since ....

My daughter and I went through the McDonald's driveway window and I gave the cashier a $5 bill.
Our total was $4.25, so I also handed her 25c.
She said, 'you gave me too much money.'
I said, 'Yes I know, but this way you can just give me a dollar back.'
She sighed and went to get the manager who asked me to repeat my request.
I did so, and he handed me back the 25c, and said 'We're sorry but we don’t do that kind of thing.'
The cashier then proceeded to give me back 75 cents in change.
Do not confuse the people at MacD's.

We had to have the garage door repaired. The repairman told us that one of our problems was that we did not have a 'large' enough motor on the opener.
I thought for a minute, and said that we had the largest one made at that time, a 1/2 horsepower.
He shook his head and said, 'You need a 1/4 horsepower.'
I responded that 1/2 was larger than 1/4 and he said, 'NOOO, it's not. Four is larger than two.'
We haven't used that repairman since...

I live in a semi rural area. We recently had a new neighbor call the local city council office to request the removal of the DEER CROSSING sign on our road.
The reason: 'Too many deer are being hit by cars out here! I don't think this is a good place for them to be crossing anymore.'

IDIOT SIGHTING IN FOOD SERVICE.
My daughter went to a Mexican fast food and ordered a taco. She asked the person behind the counter for 'minimal lettuce.'
He said he was sorry, but they only had iceberg lettuce.

I was at the airport, checking in at the gate when an airport employee asked, 'Has anyone put anything in your baggage without your knowledge?'
To which I replied, 'If it was without my knowledge, how would I know?'
He smiled knowingly and nodded, 'That's why we ask.'

The pedestrian light on the corner beeps when it's safe to cross the street.
I was crossing with an 'intellectually challenged' co-worker of mine.
She asked if I knew what the beeper was for.
I explained that it signals blind people when the light is red.
Appalled, she responded, 'what on earth are blind people doing driving?!'
She is a government employee.....

When my husband and I arrived at a car dealership to pick up our car after a
service, we were told the keys had been locked in it.
We went to the service department and found a mechanic working feverishly to unlock the driver’s side door.
As I watched from the passenger side, I instinctively tried the door handle and discovered that it was unlocked.
‘Hey,' I announced to the technician, 'its open!'
His reply, 'I know. I already did that side.'

STAY ALERT!

This one really happened. My wife was born in Scotland. When she went to the DMV for a license, the young girl studied her application intently. After pounding some keys on her terminal she asks: "Does Scotland have a different name?" I said it is part of the United Kingdom. Her eyes grew wide and she said: "Do they have real kings and queens?" The vote and they breed. Some escape high school without much of an education. Some end up as public servants.

It is not just here!!

My wife and I were touring Latvia shortly after independence. On the last day we decided to buy some ice cream in order to use up the last of our local currency.

The only thing that we could afford was something made with chocolate ice cream, so we ordered it. After a few minutes, the clerk returned and stated that they could not make it because they were out of chocolate ice cream. I indicated that vanilla or any other flavor would be OK. "Sorry", was the reply, "the computer indicates that we should put 2 scoops of chocolate ice cream in the cup".

I don't know if it was just this clerk, or if this was the result of the society's thinking after decades under the Communist system.

P.S: We never did get our ice cream. We ended up giving the money to UNICEF at the airport. Fewer calories too.

The 'man in the street' interviews of college kids are also pretty revealing. Scary stuff to think of....

I have experienced all of these. I get the airport question quite often since I fly fairly regulary. Plus I have had individual tell me that they have given me the correct change when in fact I know that they gave me to much and no amount of telling them they are wrong will convince them other wise. I count my change before leaving the register.

Its not just in the US.....We followed you in treating 'under 25's' as young people rather than adults. (Paid less)As a result those between 16 and 18 are treated as small children and generally cannot find any work experience at all. Few people get a delivered newspaper or milk etc.

I was peeling potatoes at a hotel aged 13, cooking bar meals at 16 and treated as an adult.....ie you worked as hard as everyone else. This whole culture has dissapeared. People who leave school now expect to be treated like a child and told 'what to do and when to do it'. They get paid to text their mates but not to think for themselves. Ask them to pick up a cloth and wipe down anything and you get told - 'not my job'.'Not their job' covers so much....it is hard to understand 'what their job...actually is.

Yes they vote, have kids and even die for their country - but not get paid as an adult!

its a sad world

You can thank your government child labor laws for a large part of this problem and its not getting any better, just ask anyone who has children and owns a farm or ranch.

Its always good to go to the extreme to make a point :-) but when a ranch kid can't drive a tractor and has to wear a hardhat to be in the barn, things have gone a little too far don't you think?
