Welcome to our forum. Yes, the d200 is still a great one after all these years.

The D200 is an excellent camera considering the technology at the time. The images have the first generation color by Nikon which are pastel like.
Its sensor and firmware are similar to those in the D2X.
I have a D200 and always thought the colors were vivid not soft or pastel like. What setting would provide "pastel like" colors? Thank you. YNY.
Welcome to the Hog, enjoy.
Welcome to UHH bwc74, glad you joined us. I also shoot with Nikon gear. Presently the D7200, D7100 and assorted Nikkor glass.
Have fun, learn and enjoy the forum.

Welcome on the hog. I shoot with three d200's and really like
the results. I'm still learning but there are some very usable aspects of the camera and very beautiful pictures can still be made.
Aloha bwc74 and welcome to UHH. I purchased my D200 back in 2005 and it is a very wonderful camera and you'll enjoy it for a very long time. I've moved on to Full Frame (FF) cameras and now my granddaughter is currently using it. Go out and take plenty of photos, moat of all have fun. Looking forward to seeing you post some photos.
Welcome!
I still have the D200 which I haven't used in a while, however, I think that I will now pull it out for some general use.
Welcome! Looking forward to your posts and pictures. Happy shooting!
Welcome. I also started with the D200 when it came out in 2005. Up until then I shot film with my 1971 Nikon FTN (still have it). Recently went to the D7200...used it for a month in France in September.

I have D200 as my primary camera, and a D100 as a backup. They do everything I need, I'm not a "gotta have the latest" type of guy!!
