I just finished reading an article on this subject. Have you come up with your own style? What sets you apart from most photographers?

I have been working on this and I think so. There is a definite feel to my work - at least I hope so. Here are a couple of samples.

I think a personal style is very rare. The three images posted above a very well done. Is the style unique to this photographer?

Is eclectic a valid style?
If so, then I have one....

Hmmmm. Most likely not. My photos just keep falling into this pattern of looking authentic? Real? Expressive? I’m not actually sure. You’re right though, probably not actually a unique style as much as a pattern. I’ll keep working on the actual style thing.

I work with a loose, continuously evolving set of styles rather than a single, distinct style. Recycling the same look and limited number of themes and ideas over and over again is certainly not what I want out of photography.

Finding ones own style, is similar to an author finding ones own voice. It takes much time and practice. And the harder you seek it, the more elusive It becomes. Shoot, shoot and shoot some more. In time, it finds you.

Not sure that I have or ever will. But, if I had to describe myself "artistically", the term "Mediocratist" comes to mind. I don't even know how to spell it. Sigh.

Yes.

But it turns out my style is pedestrian, boring, and run-of-the-mill.

My style is still in development. Might always be.

Kimchee, sorry but I don’t see a style? Maybe you can explain it?
I don’t think a style is something you work on. A style is your personality and how it’s projected in how you see and it would have similarities in a body of work.
If you’re forcing a style all you're doing is compartmentalizing your work and restricting yourself.
Styles change and can evolve and vary by genre.
Maybe if I saw 500 of your images I could see it but not with 3 completely different shots?!

Fred. Perhaps you are incorrect. It is difficult to judge our own work. We have an emotional attachment to it. And we grow bored of our own work. Your photographic endeavors may be much better than you suspect. 👍
