Non political question, but I think folks here can make good recommendations.

I purchased a detector for my grandson and would like to video his excitement when finding "treasure". In a fairly inexpensive waterproof video camera, $150 range, what brand or model would you recommend. I think it should be something fairly robust as a 10-year-old boy will also be using it to document his adventures.

Thanks in advance.

I have a Nikon Coolpix. Waterproof to 30 ft and impact resistant. It takes good under water pics and videos and has a viewing screen....something our GoPro doesn’t have. This model is in your price range. https://www.groupon.com/deals/gg-nikon-coolpix-w100-132mp-waterproof-camera?deal_option=2443939c-300e-11e7-853a-00259060b5da&utm_source=Google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=US_DT_SEA_GGL_TIM_TTT_PADS_CBP_CHP_NBR_g*gg-nikon-coolpix-w100-132mp-waterproof-camera_productpartitionid*29143798248_campaignid*228801421_adgroupid*25025807581_prodtarget*29143798248_productid*58847153_target*aud-299079745321:pla-29143798248_d*Goods-Product-Ads_mobile*true_keyword*_adtype*pla_merchantdid*10018412_c*94413872341_k*_m*_adposition*1o7&mr:referralID=99eaaa82-fc40-11e7-9798-0050569406b5&gclid=CjwKCAiAqIHTBRAVEiwA6TgJw3BE3DdJeIgD7F8jW7hI88aZKa-NMynIECzZI6LYcbhBlbJGRhuzfBoCm3gQAvD_BwE

Some photos taken with it...I don’t have any handy (on my iPad) that were taken in clear water outdoors. I’ll add when I’m at the PC

Thanks Dirt, one must check regulations regarding metal detecting in state parks. Metal detecting is prohibited in national parks and BLM land.

You should try it out, kinda fun, and if nothing else it cleans the place up.

Went up to Pleasanton ks. On one battle field. They gave me flag wires to mark where an what I found. So I took it a step further. Took a marker wrote numbers on flag. Then wrote in a note pad what was found at that number. That was decades ago. Went by there again 3 years ago. Now that their norm of doin it. You suppose turn in what you find. Neatest thing I found was a tomahawk an old wagon wheel spud wrench.
