Welcome, Jim Plogger.
For your information: The challenge series is to produce images capable of pleasing a photo editor, and get published. The critiques and thumbs-up are designed to encourage members to improve their skills. All this was made clear when this series of challenges began. Some members take it very seriously as they feel it enables them to produce better images. As you have just got here I understand your confusion as to what is going on. I am sure we would all benefit if you continued to take part in the spirit of the challenge. We can all learn, even the oldest of us and I'm talking about me.

The critique is designed to bring you up to speed to help you get your photos published. That may not be your aim, but will also test your skills. You may consider some images too bright, gaudy, or whatever, that's your privilege to be subjective. It's not about what you like but what will sell and get published. Having explained that here's the critique.

You have created a natural looking image, which is fine, but it will not please a photo editor. He or she is looking for images to sell a destination. This means Bright rich colors, the illusion of depth, no noise, no Color Aberration or Fringing, cropped to perfection, and the impact of an interesting subject.
Now you know where we are heading. I'll give you three thumbs for a good try without knowing what you were aiming for.

Ho! Ho! Right on the button, Lloyd.
I just noticed a little noise in the faces of the ladies, too late now.

Blackest, a beautiful image but it would not pass a strict photo editor: In the processing you added noise in the faces of the women. Sharpness is a little off. Maybe you added Glow or a similar adjustment or effect. I say maybe because it's hard to be sure. Most photo editors hate glow effects because it may not look good in a printed magazine. I hate to knock you down one thumb but to be fair. Four thumbs:

Having summer/autumn stuff to work on is a good antidote to winter gloom.

It's all lightroom , these are the adjustments applied. You can import the adjustments into lightroom.

Thank you, blackest. That is very kind of you and I'm sure there Lightroom owning member who will delight in using it. That's a hint Lightroom users.
I don't use Lightroom, blackest, I'm one of those old guys attached to GIMP and now Affinity Photo.
