This was taken last weekend. I woke up Sunday morning to -26... degrees.Well, there goes my plans for the day I will then sit inside by the toasty fire all day. So I decided to take a self portrait of my unproductive self, having my coffee.

There is no such thing as cold weather.
There is merely inappropriate attire.
Biggest challenge in these conditions is not keeping warm, it’s keeping camera body, battery, and lens warm enough to operate satisfactorily:

yeah it has been literally YEARS... since we have seen 20 below... like 100 years i think.... it was terrible. for a few days. Glad its back to normal January temps.

Generally a couple of days each Winter in Northern WI & MI UP, when the daytime temps get down to -15 or below, and they generally are breezy days, too. The light is often fantastic on those days though, particularly late into the evening, so it’s a case of wearing multiple layers and trying to keep the camera equipment insulated between shots.
