Being a Lake Michigan shoreline tree is a tough job. When the first really cold storms blow in, it's not unusual to see the trees covered in freezing waves... this is the result.

How do the lighthouses look now on Lake Michigan?

It takes on a sort of eerie look. Good shot.

Not quite baked yet, to my taste. ;o) We need a couple more really cold and windy storms to produce the best effects.

Wow! That photo speaks for itself. Very impressive expression and true display of ICE!

Thanks Folks, for your very kind comments. These works can be tough:
1. Subjects rarely within a one mile range of a parking lot
2. Can be tough (icy & snow-covered) terrain, in cold conditions... this photograph was captured in the evening of a cold & windy day where the actual temp never climbed above -10 degrees F
3. Keeping camera equipment and self warm enough to capture the image when you get there, can be quite the challenge!

I'm lucky enough to own the EF 100-400 F4.5-5.6L IS II USM lens; the Image Stabilization system can apparently cope with me shivering AND a strong wind blowing, at the same time?

Yes, you need ice cleats. Can you send out a call when the Lighthouses on Lake Mich. look good and maybe a pic? Thanks.

Sure. I have my fingers crossed for the end of January... this week has been a bit of a disappointment.
