I know the place you're thinking of, Chief, at Thompson Pass, and I have a similar photo made at that exact spot (top of the pass, on the left, when headed to Valdez) but the last image was made in Denali Park - at Polychrome Pass... somewhere I've an uncropped version with tourists and such hanging about... At least, that's what I see in my head... I've a few more discs to rummage through, maybe I'll find some supporting documentation.... and, THANKS! for looking!

My wife and I were there a couple years ago. I think your last photo is from the hiway to Valdez. My wife says no. We didn't make it all the way to the turn-around before Prudhoe, getting too low on fuel but it was a beautiful trip! On the way back we camped on the Arctic Circle, only once in my life have I seen worse mosquitoes. (And I still think the last photo is from the road to Valdez) Anyway, outstanding photo's.
