Figuring out how to circumvent silly Ignore List censorship.

My answer is actually after more than two years and several tries I was able to get the white cactus flower image I had envisioned by bringing a cut flower indoors to photograph it. Many of you have seen it in a couple presentations here on the Hog.

1. Anytime my great-niece, Lydia Paige, calls and asks to go to lunch and then get some shots.

11/2. anytime with the grandkids and a camera

2. Latest trip to Ireland

3. annual trip to Jellystone Park

4. Almost any car show

5. volunteering my photo talents to the church council and World Vision.

6. first time winning a photography contest

7. having work hung in the state and national travelling salons.

8. having a new client call and ask if I'm available to do a job - and not asking how much I charge.

9. anytime I post something and others like it and comment, good or bad.

(after 1 and 11/2, not necessarily in that order)

(oops, sorry. forgot to limit to 2017. my bad. got carried away)

Got my images on an album Cover, back and center spread. And finally getting a snowy owl set of images.

I saw the first wild bear in Florida I've ever seen in the 59 years I've lived in here and I was able to get good clear closeup pictures of it too!!

My best (most exhilarating moment) shooting in 2017 was in Denali NP, already boarded the bus at the Eielson Visitor's Center, when I suddenly heard a recognizable sound, that of sandhill cranes. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. Flying through the mist, rain and snow (lousy shooting day), suddenly appeared a large group of sandhills, flying in and out of the clouds. This quick shot through the bus window does not do them credit, but the experience of seeing and hearing them kept me pumped for a long time.

I would have said "Buying a new DSLR," but that doesn't apply. I did get an A6000 for when I want a compact, though. I think the best moment would have to be many moments of learning things on UHH.

This photo for me was the highlight...taken in the rain at a local artfest. The band selected my image as their Facebook cover photo, so every time they post appearance updates I get to see my photo. That makes me smile....probably not the best photo, but the end result makes me happy.

Having two prints in the Delta Exhibition at Arkansas Arts Center in Little Rock. It was my first time submitting to this exhibition. 73 works from 57 were chosen out of 1,120 entries by 497 artists

This was an exciting photography year for me despite being plagued with health and other problems. My top 4:

-Winning a Luminous Landscape Endowment award
-Having my my first gallery show exhibited in a state museum
-Seeing my work contribute to an environmental project I believe in
-Meeting, traveling and shooting with some of my UHH mentors who’ve taught me so much
