The Catherine Palace is located in the town of Tsarskoye Selo (Pushkin), 30 km south of St. Petersburg, Russia. It was the summer residence of the Russian tsars.
Nine shots, RAW, hand held with a Panasonic GX8. Processed in Lightroom.
Bigger than Versailles it seems.
Great details.
Wow! Impressive capture of an impressive building. (architecturally speaking)
Edit; I just noticed the young lady's right hand "Alla Tours", sharp as a tack and hand held.)

We were on a cruise ship tour. I don't know how I managed a 9 shot panorama with only the tour guide in it.
The back story is that I'm a cold war Navy pilot that was trained to find and catastrophically sink enemy submarines. Russians were the enemy. This trip took me to an incredibly friendly place. The tour guide showed us the sights. She also made sure we learned how wonderfully warn the Russians really are.
The sharp as a tack part is of course the camera. It is a Panasonic GX8 and the lens is a Lumix 14-140 "superzoom". The camera is fantastic but not didn't really take off in the market because some guy made a personal internet campaign over his ability to discover shutter shock. It is still for sale, but has been eclipse by a couple other Panasonic models.
Lightroom makes the pano process brain dead easy. Snap the pictures with about 20% overlap and Lightroom puts it together when you get home.

Thanks. The camera did the great details. I only held it.

Well done. Zoom in on the domes on the left. Look at all that gold. Too bad the sun was not behind you. If this is the summer home, imagine the winter one. And the Russians gave this up for drab guys like Stalin and Putin.
By private email, mrjcall or "Jim" has sent me some excellent post processing suggestions. If he is reading this, I would welcome him posting what he sent me. If he does not post it, I will work on his suggestions and see how it turns out.
