The Brown Truck stopped by...
This afternoon UPS (on a Saturday no less) delivered a Sony A7RIII to my doorstep. I told my wife that is was a product of extreme GAS... and that it was something I really needed but couldn't explain when pressed for details. I'm still waiting for the 24-70mm f4 Sony/Zeiss that will be its main lens so I had to put on a 55mm f1.8 Sony/Zeiss that I had laying around in the interim. I'm not going to give up my D810, DF, or D500's and lenses anytime soon, however, the little Sony is very advanced camera.
Cool! I hope you have a wonderful time with it.

00, welcome to the Hog!
I heard the Brown Truck that does your route burst into flames that day. Luckily, it was AFTER it delivered your GAS medicine!!! LoL
The driver was fine but all the other cameras on the truck burned up!!!

Congrats on your new mirrorless full frame. The predecessor to that camera was excellent. This newer model can only be better. Enjoy.
Congratulations! However I suspect you might acquire some more GAS in the near future, as in my hands the 24-70 F4.0 had image quality issues. The 24-70 2.8 is in an entirely different league. It is a little like you purchased a tent to protect your Rolls.

tinplater, I've read great things on the 24-70 2.8, which your post confirms. Question: have you considered the new 24-105? I've heard good things, but haven't seen but one thorough review yet, so am looking for folks who've tried it, and especially comparisons with the 24-70 2.8, which is my other potential choice. Thanks for any insights.
Tinplater - I have an A6000 with a Sony 18-105/f4 and an A6300 that regularly has a Sony/Zeiss 16-70/f4. The Sony 18-105/f4 is a much larger lens and I often prefer to take the camera with the Sony/Zeiss 16-70/f4. I've read dozens and dozens of reviews of the Sony/Zeiss 24-70/f4 and they are good and not so good... if I get a bad copy I'll return it for another. Although they are highly rated, I'm not presently interested in the Sony 24-105/f4 or the Sony 24-70/f2.8 due to their size. I want to keep the camera/lens combination as small as practical. I already have Nikon Glass in 24-70 and 70-200 in f2.8. I'm keeping an eye on the Nikon to Sony FE adapter reviews and may go that route some day if they improve.
Sweeeeeeeet
the 55 is a sweet lens, so is the 85mm
Congratulations. It should be fun. I'd like to see some comparison shots with your other cameras. The Sony FE 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 GM OSS lens is in order next. It will be awesome for sports and wildlife shots. The brown truck arrived to my house just days ago. It delivered a Paul C. Buff DigiBee DB-800 studio strobe.
Enjoy your new toy. It always feels great when you get a new camera.

I read about the Sony FE 100-400mm lens. It appears to be an awesome lens for both wildlife and sports photography. Do you intend to get the FE 1.4X teleconverter for it?
