Sorry I have not been on UHH much lately - a lot going on. Anyway, I have dreamed about having a small motorhome to travel the country in, and have finally been able to get one. This is a 2003 Mini Winnie 29B with less than 19,000 miles on it. So, I may be coming to an area near you. So many places I want to see, and so little time.
Now I have to think of a name - I love collecting rocks, and I will be hauling my dogs around, so have thought of "Rolling Stone" and "Doghouse" but they just don't resonate with me. If any of you have thoughts, I would love to hear them.
Good shots AuntieM.That's a beautiful motorhome and I'm sure you'll have some great holidays in it.We used to go caravanning for many years and loved every minute in it.
What a great motorhome. I'm just thinking that if you get out to Utah, my wife and I could share some of your travels. She would be great company and I would be very good as ballast. Until then, hope you just enjoy the heck out of it.
Well you have done what I have wanted to for some time. An Invitation. I am among other things a Tour Guide in San Diego area and would like to meet you. If you get out this way I could point you to some of our High Lights and locations. What do you like to photograph??

PS It was 80 here yesterday

Great looking motor home Auntie! I bet you will have a grand time rolling down the road in it and getting some great shots of your adventures.
How about Rock Paws for a name? Just an idea, you might like it or not. I'm sure there will be more suggestions from the Hogs here.
P.S. if you ever get to Va. let me know. I can show you some great places in the Shenandoah Valley.
will
How about "The Stone Dog". Pooch Rock sounds like a 70s song.

I definitely want to return to Utah - have been there several times and just love the State. I have enough ballast with myself, but thanks for the offer. If I get back out there though, I will definitely whistle you up for a "meet and greet."

I hope that you are not being affected by those awful fires that are burning out there. Thank you so much for your kind offer and I will definitely take you up on it when I get to San Diego. I love to photograph nature - wildlife; plants; scenery; sunrises (when I can get up that early); sunsets; and would like to get some good star and Milky Way shots. I also like people when they are in interesting situations or doing interesting things. I am hoping to be able to do some volunteer work in National and State parks for several months at a time, along with traveling around, because that would give me a greater opportunity to learn the best places to photograph and get the optimum lighting. I have been in enough places on trips where I have heard "You should have been here yesterday - the sunset/sunrise/clouds, etc. were spectacular." I will send you a PM with my e-mail and we will keep in touch.

VA is just north of me, and sad to say, I have never been to the Shenandoah Valley, so would love to take you up on your offer. I also have a UHH friend (Diane Meyer) who I think might like to come along as well. We both love waterfalls, and landscapes and VA has those in abundance. I look forward to meeting up with you at some time in the future.

Pooch Rock kind of sounds like a kid's program like "Fraggle Rock." Something will strike my fancy at some point. Right now "she" is a blank canvas and I will be making her my own with my "touches." Maybe she doesn't want to be named until that is done and she knows what my personality is.

Although it's been
many years since I read the book, I seem to recall that John Steinbeck named his specially-built GMC pickup/camper
Rocinante (after Don Quixote's horse); he went around the country in it with his dog in 1960 and
Travels with Charley was the result.
Hope you enjoy it. Give us a holler if you get out this way. We will treat you to lunch.

Enjoy your new movable home! While my wife and I still have a number of years working before we retire, we both want to do just what you are. Have fun! What about "Rock Hound"?
