If you ordered your D850, or other expensive gear, from outside of your state, were you charged sales tax? It appears Amazon charges it for my Idaho order, but B&H won't. Have not received my 850 yet. Maybe that's why B&H has a large back order.
Amazon has agreed to charge sales tax in most states now regardless of whether or not they have operations in the state. They just started doing this in Missouri this year and were doing it in Illinois for some time. Amazon is like many other large internet order sites that are being pressured to collect sales tax. They expect companies like B&H or KEH to collect but most do not so it falls back to the citizens of those states to do the reporting which many do not.
I will add one more thing, I recently used KEH for a first time purchase, a Nikon Motor Drive, based largely on what people have said here on UHH and was absolutely please with what I got. Except for one slight blemish you would think what I got was brand new out of the box. Thank you UHH and thank you to KEH.
