That's what this guy said after receiving two Sony cameras when he ordered just one. About twenty other people faced the same dilemma.

Only a dilemma if you have no morals.

My most recent experience in this situation was my wife and me having lunch at a fast food place. We had the usual fare and paid with a $20. I din’t chech the change she gave me until we sat down. As I was stuffing change in my pocket I noticed a couple bills that seemed to exceed what was due me. After counting, there was a significant amount over refunded me. I went back to the register and asked the young lady to check the receipt and the amount she refunded me. Can’t remember all the numbers, but the overage was significant. I’m guessing that shortages have to be made up by the cashier, and for someone at those wages, any shortfall would be significant.

Before we left, the young lady came over and gave me a big hug of thanks. Big reward in my book!

Several years ago I worked for Sears. A family bought a new roof for their house. The roof material they ordered was out of stock, so after it was in stock, an installer picked up the shingles. A few weeks passed and still no installation. The family complained, Sears then contracted with private installers to install roofing and other items. The installer was contacted and told that the family was going to cancel the order and ask for a refund. I was working as customer service manager. The administrative assistant to the territory president advised me to call the installation manager, and tell him if the families roof was not installed he would be fired. His reply "I will go to the house in the morning and make sure the installer is installing the roof. "
The installation manger assured me that the roof would be installed the next day. I called the installation manager, and asked him if he had been to the customer's house the next morning. I have been to the house and the installer is putting on the new roof. The next afternoon I called the customer asked if the roof he was happy that the roof had finally be installed, he said "No, but my next door neighbor has a beautiful new roof. The roofing installer had removed the old roof, and installed a new roof on wrong house. Needless to say, the roofing sub-contractor was removed from the list of approved Sears contractors. The installation manger was fired.

I ordered a wireless keyboard from a website. In a few days a package arrived, it contained two wireless keyboards. I the seller and made them aware the the problem, and asked if they would the a return authorization, they said they would. I returned the extra keyboard. In a few more days I received another package with two keyboards. Later in the day I received a return authorization label. I returned the keyboards that I had NOT ordered. In approximately a week. I received an email saying they the seller was sorry I had problems with the delivery I purchased and they were sending a keyboard. A few days later I received another package with you guessed what two keyboards. I send the seller another email and told them I needed to return one of the keyboards if they would send a return authorization label, they said just keep the extra keyboard, we appreciate your honesty and attempts to correct the problems. I send them an email and asked by any chance does your company sell DSLRs and lenses. Of course they replied no just computer accessories.

Had something similar some years ago. This before on-line shopping.
Bought a software program, was on a floppy disk, came in a box - just 1. Received 7 cartons of the software, don't remember the count in each carton but the cartons were about maybe 15x15x24. I called the company to have them make arrangement to have them picked up but no one would listen (believe) to me. I finally got some body after about the 3rd call to pay attention when I told him that after 24 hours if I hadn't received the pick-up information I was going to put the boxes on my front yard with a sign taped to each box that said "Help Yourself" as I wasn't going to keep them in my living room beyond then. I did get the shipping instructions (when to have the boxes out for pick-up) but no thank you.

At times it makes you feel as if you are trying to push a rope, shame it takes more effort at times to do the right thing than it is to be dishonest

My wife is an RN and makes a pretty good salary. One pay period her paycheck was just about double what it should have been. She spent the next six months trying to get it straightened out, but this hospital's bureaucracy is worse than most and she could make no headway so she finally said "f*** it. Unless they get in touch with me, I'm keeping it!"

Just had an experience at one of our major box stores. Customer service was talking to a manager and store rep about the fact that a woman had bought a hair dryer, (one of the small cheaper ones) and found two in the box when it was shipped. They were on the phones for at least an hour and it caused them so much trouble that I vowed never to bother a store with that kind of problem. Putting it back would screw up inventory they said. Did not have it resolved when I left store.
