Some recent bird pics along Coeur d'Alene Lake. The Bald Eagle image is barely adequate, but if you want to see some absolutely stunning Bald Eagles, check out UHH posts by Regis. The same tree and probably the same eagle; great equipment matters.

Your photos are very good! I enjoyed them. As for the eagle, I don't think many of us can rival Regis. I know I can't with my eagle shots. That is why he sets the standard, at least for eagles and ospreys! And probably etc.

Katy, I am very pleased you like the bird pics. I will probably get out in the next day or so and get a few (hundred) eagle shots, plus whatever else I can find.

Gary, you captured a very nice assortment of feathered friends! I've always found Eagles to be difficult. I think your shot of this one is good. It could have sharper feather detail but you got the eye very nicely and it is a very good shot overall. Your birds in flight shots are very well done,too. So I think you get kudos for this series!

Gary, I enjoyed all of the photos and as I am sure others would say, Regis is a hard photographer to compare yourself to. Taking Regis as the gold standard you still overall rate in the high 9s.

Carol, you have a very kind assessment, and I agree the eagle feather would have been better to be sharper. That is primarily what I was shooting for. From my house, it only takes 15 minutes to drive out there and be shooting. If I get something interesting I will post them.

Regis is a tough act to follow, as well as many other excellent UHH posts that I draw inspiration from. However with Regis, I am shooting eagles in the same tree and likely the same birds. Equipment limitation and ability usually make the difference in my mind, however I really enjoy squeezing the best out of whatever equipment I have, and always working on achieving my personal best. It keeps me motivated.
