How do you watermark/copyright your photos?

Neither do I! Of course, there may be a hidden watermark in my pictures, but if there is it would take skillful pixel peeping to find it!

The "watermark" I ONLY place on the samples that I post on-line. I know very well that this is not going to really saop anyone from coping and using it as their image and repost it. AND on the Print that I do sell, do NOT have this splattered on that Print. If fact, I only sign photographs in the Lower Righthand corner when and IF the client wants that. (So far, after 12 years of selling my photographic art I have had only One person who did not want my name on the print - but rather on the side of a canvas "gallery wrapped" 20X30... That was good with me - In fact, I now make it a point to sign a canvas on the Right folded side, IF they want it there.
If someone, like a woman once said that it distracts too much from the posted image, I just say that if she wanted a print of her own she could buy one without the "watermark" on it.... No reply of course to that. AND I post Low resolution jpg images on-line. I Print - or have printed - TIF images.
To watermark or not to watermark - This is up to each and everyone of us.

Per all the comments about the distraction of watermarks, if the mark is
semi-transparent, the eye is not immediately drawn to it.

I use a PS pattern stamp that I created that allows me to change color and size witch helps a lot to keep from distracting from the image.

This is how the Watermark below was just done. It took me less than one minute.
Stamp with your Brush your copyright logo on a layer in Photoshop. It can be any color. Add a Smooth Inner Bevel and Emboss and add a strong Drop Shadow with Layer Styles. Back in the Layers Panel, turn the "Fill" slider, (the one you always wondered about, located underneath the Opacity slider), down to zero. You are done. You can move it, scale it, and adjust the Opacity.

Anyone with sufficient Photoshop skills can do just about anything if they are motivated. The best we can do is make it difficult enough to discourage those chumps.

FWIW - the bridge and suspension lines make it difficult. It would end up being a bit of work for sure - not a 20 second point and click deal for sure! :)

Yep nice, and easily done, years ago I had Photomatix as a trial version, I used it quite a bit, but got tired of removing their watermark from every image I made with it (even though it was easy and fast to do)!
