Goblin Valley State Park is an interesting place with a great night sky. My first trip to Goblin Valley was in April and the wind was gusting to over 50mph, tents in the campground were blowing down, and there was so much grit in the air that I wasn't willing to risk opening my camera case. I went back in October when temperatures were moderate and the wind (at least when I was there) had died.
Mesmerizing! Very sharp, too. How long was your exposure?

10 second exposure. I found that while shooting at 24mm with a camera with a 1.5 crop factor that any exposure longer than 10 seconds showed movement of the stars. When using a camera without a crop factor and a wider angle lens (D3 & a 17mm focal length lens) exposures of 20 seconds didn’t show the stars visibly streaking.
