Angela, you keep doing it to me. These are great photos and the way they tore up the pumpkin is something I need to remember for next year. I have not had one for years because Brenda does not want one around the house. Next year I will get a couple just for the squirrels. The Blue Jay is fantastic. It is one of the birds I never get a photo of. This one is great.

Angela, you keep doing it to me. These are great ... (show quote)

Many thanks, Greg.... for your comment and thumbs!! Your squirrels would love for you to buy them a pumpkin present!! I've always cut a hole on the side of the pumpkin for them to go in and get the seeds, but this year, they did it all on their own!! They even ate through 3 little gourd pumpkins that I had for display!!!
The jays come in groups of 4-6... especially when the peanuts are out and since I put the branches up, they land on them waiting for the squirrels to leave!!

Very cute. The squirrels here see no reason to wait until I've harvested my pumpkin crop, and begin helping themselves almost as soon as the pumpkins begin to show any orange. This does not endear them to me!!!

LOL.... Randy, they're so cute, so you need to come to terms that you're growing your pumpkins just for them... and they thank you!!
Glad you enjoyed my chubby backyard critters!!!

Angela, I doubt I will find any pumpkins yet this year but I promise you and my little friends that I will do it next year and every after that.

Great shots Angela! Must be fun watching them from the warmth of you sun room. Let's hope they're not gearing up for a harsh winter. It's coming all to quickly.

Thanks, Tricia!!! They are fun to watch and for some strange reason, they're extra hungry this year!!! They even ate 3 small gourds I had outside!!
We've been spoiled this year, so you know that cold and white is right around the corner!!
We need a play day soon!!!

Greg, you might find them in the grocery stores... people still cook pumpkin for soup and pie... my little critters even ate through gourds!!!

LOL Delightful shots, Angela, and the 3rd one is a prize winner IMO. Lovely image of your bluejay as well!! He looks like he has something very serious on his mind.

Great set Angela, but our squirrels never seems to bother them. I usually discard the pumpkins to a "almost compost" pile in a wooded area and they lay there until they finally appear to decompose naturally. Maybe I should keep a little closer watch on them!

Thanks, Donna.... I was in the sunroom and David was in the kitchen and he spotted him in the pumpkin... he yelled to me and thankfully my camera was right there, it was perfect timing and they do keep us entertained!! Glad you enjoyed and I appreciate your always kind comments!

This was the first year I didn't make the hole on the side for them... they just ate down to the seeds and are still eating!! I'm surprised yours don't bother with them and if you have deer, they also eat them.
Corky, glad you enjoyed seeing my little chubby!!!
