Why are people so loathe to compromise?

I have noticed in our government and here on the Attic that folks want everything to be, "my way or the highway". Can this perhaps be attributed to a propensity for people being greedy and it flows over into all their thinking? What are your thoughts on this. I know the way some folks converse on here that in a face to face situation they would be dining on a knuckle sandwich. Is the day of civil discourse dead?

The TURDS, just don't know any different or any other way!
The conservative TURDS, especially those here, are a dying breed. They are not going quietly, but they WILL go.
Sure, there will always be white supremacist, and though very vocal and buoyed by an occasional conservative like TRAMP or Bannon, but they are a very small minority and will eventually be fully mitigated politically.
This country was founded by a common belief, and that belief has slowly metamorphosed into what we have today.
America is at a balancing point, one where we will never be again as the balance has shifted from a purely white control to a greater role in government by people of other colors, and as a nation, the conservative TURD philosophy will eventually be supplanted by the majority as America becomes more liberal and of color!!!

It's always been pretty rough here in the Attic but what I noticed that things started getting worse about 2 to 3 years ago when 17 idiots threw their hats in the ring for president.

I think it's a stereotypical American trait. They don't seem to have any sense of moderation. Take the current political situation. It seems you have to either love Trump and he can do no wrong, or, you despise him and everything he does. It's almost like supporting a sports team. That may well be just a stereotype, but, it does seem to ring true on this forum. Over here, we may support one party over the others, but, if we think they're wrong on a particular matter, we do tend to say so.
