I'm curious what bag, backpack, hard shell or soft, do you use for everyday carry from A to B? I'm looking at the Peak Design Everyday Messenger but the price is a bit steep, unless someone reading this is absolutely blown away by it. I am looking for protection, functionality, strength (well built), comfortable for the hike in/out, and a well deserved price. Again, just a daily carry. Thanks Hogs!!

I own both a Peak Design Everyday Messenger and Everyday Backpack (30 litre). They are pricey compared with the competition, so if your local camera store doesn’t carry them in stock for an in person comparison check out the many YouTube videos with users doing it for you. I lean towards the back pack now as 2 straps distribute weight better than one.

I have mirrorless cameras (ILMC).

My EDC (every day carry) bag is a Tenba Switch 10. It carries an ILMC + a lens or two + a bunch of other stuff. Friends call it my "murse", and I use it like one.

When I get on an airplane, all that stuff and more + another ILMC (system) + a 14" laptop goes in a Tenba Cooper 15.
When full, that's about as much weight as I care to have over my shoulder, or cross-body.

I call it my “curse” ( camera purse). Wife doesn’t find that very funny!

Depending on how much you spent on your gear, it may not be worth cutting corners with the bag. I'm a back pack guy and go off the beaten path. I use a Think tank Streetwalker as a small backpack and a Mindshift Backlight 26l as my large bag. The funny thing about is the larger the backpack, the more you carry. Before you buy, go look and touch what you want and try to think down the road. Will it still carry what you want next year or the year after.

I am taking an online photography course. The teacher uses no bag but a jacket which he claims is more secure and everything is handy / available.
