I'm curious what bag, backpack, hard shell or soft, do you use for everyday carry from A to B? I'm looking at the Peak Design Everyday Messenger but the price is a bit steep, unless someone reading this is absolutely blown away by it. I am looking for protection, functionality, strength (well built), comfortable for the hike in/out, and a well deserved price. Again, just a daily carry. Thanks Hogs!!

"OP/TECH USA" makes a wide variety of bags and cases from neoprene. (Think wetsuits.) They are not expensive and pad whatever is inside. With my lenses, bodies or cameras inside the neoprene bags, I am comfortable using any ordinary backpack, brief case, carry-on, etc.

Bags are a very personal thing, but you asked. I use the LowePro Event Messenger 250.
Holds my Nikon D810 with the 24-120, 70-200 2.8, two Speedlights iPad and batteries, cards, etc.
Best bag I’ve ever had in 40 years.
And very reasonably priced!!!

The Peak Design Everyday Backpack, 30L color Grey. I use Messenger bags if I am limiting the lens and gear I carry. The Peak Design Everyday Messenger is a bit small for a full kit for the D810.

I seem to be collecting Lowepros in various sizes, and their quality is excellent and the prices reasonable. My most used one is a small sling bag that holds one body plus either a 70-200 2.8 or a 100-400 or a shorter lens plus one extra. I just take what I plan to need for the shoot out of one of my larger bags, and if I need a flash, I just clip the flash case onto the one of the rings.

I tried a lot of bags (I have a pile of unused camera bags in my attic) and settled on Think Tank. They have bags for every kind of (camera) purpose.

Not the most popular option, but Amazon Basics bags have blown me away with quality. I have two of their bags - I don’t have them near me right now so I can’t give the number of either bag, but one fits a FF with 70-200 2.8 lens + 4 other lens/flashes/battery pack. The other is a hiking pack that barely fits my FF with 70-200, one other lens, and a flash in the bottom (with quick side access) and a top portion for other necessities (I’ve fit 4 days of clothes in there). The first was $30, the second $40. I used to sell camera equipment and feel comfortable putting these on par with LowePro.

Lowepro bags are available directly from the manufacturer at www.aliexpress.com. Just received a $280 Lowepro priced bag from Adorama for 1/4 of,that number. Not a knockoff, but real Lowepro.

Yes. I am a big Domke fan. You need to describe your kit. But either an f6 or f2, with a Ciesta insert (if you require a bit of extra padding ) will likely work. If you are interested, you can customize by using a couple of $3 S biners for quick access. I posted pictures of how to do that.

What amazes me is how they hold their value. I was at a swap meet several months ago, carrying my ratty old F2, and had several people wanting to buy it off my shoulder; two of them even offered $100+.

For every day use I have a Case Logic CPL-109, a small backpack with room for a DSLR with zoom (I currently have a D7000 with 70-300mm zoom in it), and room for a couple of other small lenses and accessories. I really love it, but unfortunately they seem to have discontinued that model.

I have a number of other backpacks for different situations, i.e. carrying a long telephoto, or a day hike camera backpack with room for a water bladder, clothing and food, one for travel, etc. But the Case Logic is the one I use most of the time.

I have mirrorless cameras (ILMC).

My EDC (every day carry) bag is a Tenba Switch 10. It carries an ILMC + a lens or two + a bunch of other stuff. Friends call it my "murse", and I use it like one.

When I get on an airplane, all that stuff and more + another ILMC (system) + a 14" laptop goes in a Tenba Cooper 15.
When full, that's about as much weight as I care to have over my shoulder, or cross-body.
