too many bugs. Luckily, they added a painless path back.

Can you share what bugs you encountered?

Did you try the update? It fixed my issue with GIF.
Gene: Program crashed every time I used select all, copy all, reverse order of recently pasted.
For one thing, it crashes or hangs on import. I had 7.0.1.
I don't plan on trying again until I hear all clear.
I am also going to finally fork out for CP1

I I it possible that your computer is borderline of either speed or memory to handle the newest version?
In other words, could it be something outside of the program that is causing a problem.
It just seems like such a basic software problem to miss with all the beta testing that goes into Adobe?
SS
Well, if you listen to Improve Photography IP Roundtable (EP-251) podcast, you will see I am not the only one.
Or google "Adobe CC 2017 - More bugs than the amazon rainforest" or google cc 2017 bugs.
"all the beta testing that goes into Adobe?" in light of the current situation, all I can say to that is LOL.

I just updated this morning and though I didn't encounter the instability you describe, the new version seems fine.
Ok, go with it. I thought it was ok at first too.
Make sure the shadows seem correct.
Check the system requirements for your OS for the editing program version you want to update to. I'm finding they usually want to use Hardware GPU instead of CPU and higher version of Open GL.. 3.3-4.
The new Topaz Labs Studio needs 3 and above Open GL. They even tell you what display card you'll need.
I was happy using my 6 year old Windows 7 (open gl version 2).. bug found I had to update to recent hardware.
It all worked fine on 2015 - I doubt they changed any of that, or would have mentioned.
relax, it will be fixed, always is
