Hi, I purchased a refurbished EOS 80D in early August. It arrived about a week later, but something seemed to be a little erratic about its behavior. I also purchased a new Canon battery grip from B&H and a couple of Ravpower batteries from Amazon at the same time. The erratic behavior continued and was difficult to diagnose. Eventually I discovered that the erratic behavior only occurred when I was using the Canon battery, and that it didn't seem to be charging properly, although the charger indicator lights showed green. I called Canon, explained and they shipped a new battery straight away, didn't want the faulty one returned, and everything seems good now.
It's the first problem I have had with a Canon product and the support organization could not have been better or easier to deal with. It's always nice to deal with responsive quality companies.
A big thumbs up to Canon. I think that is one of the reasons that I bought the used Canon 20D instead of a Nikon.

In 40 plus years of using Canon products, I've not had any problems. Your story reminds me that some of their cameras notify me if it detects a non-Canon battery, as though I might have a problem with it. Ironic that a genuine Canon battery was your problem.

Yep, but every company has occasional product quality issues. It's how they deal with them that makes the difference in my personal opinion. I got my first Canon - an AE-1 - in 1976. Also this was my first problem. This is my first experience with a refurb product and I have to say it has been a good one, perhaps because I was patient enough to diagnose the problem. It helps that I have worked with tech products for many years, so have some idea of how to test things, but I'm glad that I didn't just ship everything back. Patience is sometimes a virtue!
Yep, I've never had an issue with a Canon product.
Though all through CPS, I've had a lot of product go back and forth for cleanings and adjustments etc. The service has always been impeccable and the service times generally 72 hours from when it leaves to back in my hands! That's FAST!!!
